Bahariya  is reachable by car  by paved   highway in about 4 - 5 hours from Cairo.

Bahariya is the Oasis which has so far met with the least modernization. For the visitors who wish to immerse themselves in a rural area where most of the daily work is still performed by hand, this oasis is very impressive.

Its dry climate and its artesian wells with iron and sulfurous warm water will help invigorate you.

Bahariya is famous for its golden mummies which were uncovered in 1999. Additional objects of interest from ancient times are also here to be marveled at.

The palm groves and gardens entice you with their cool shadows to paint, write, read or simply to relax. Small and large dunes entice you with their beauty to explore the surroundings. At the end of the Black Desert with its basalt mountains, Bahariya offers an ideal starting point for short or long hiking trips, day tours with camels or multi-day camel treks. If you prefer to investigate the countryside with 4X4 land cruisers, this travel method is at your disposal.
