Departure:

Harrah Oasis – Bahariya Oasis – Cairo

You will spend 11 days far from daily chaos in scarcely traveled areas around the Bahariya Oasis in Egypt.

Bahariya lies 220 miles (360 km) southwest of Cairo. Its healthy climate was already known at the time of the pharaohs. Here lie the Valley of the Golden Mummies, the single temple of Alexander in Egypt, wonderful painted graves and much more. You can view these here at the end of your stay.

Initially you emerge in a unique volcanic desert around Bahariya. The first day you will spend in the vicinity of dunes and you will accustom yourself to the life as determined by nature. Sunrise and sunset are our single guiding principles. You have time to paint, write, read, walk…to linger. We meet for communal meals, for discussions to listen to stories, to sing or dance, depending upon each person's desire and mood. You will sleep in a sleeping bag under the starry heavens or, if you wish, in a 2-person tent. Enough water is present for your daily chores.

You will be underway for 7 days with well trained camels. You can ride or walk depending  upon your desire.  Daily  stages are   short   3  to 5  hours including a mid day rest. Thus you have enough time to survey the sights and enough space to enjoy them.

You will roam landscapes which are outside of normal tourism. You will intensively experience a nature which has hardly been touched.
