OF A NEW ROCK - ART

IN GILF EL KEBIR NEAR WADI SURA

Khalifa Expedition I

10th of June in an exploration expedition through the Great Sand Sea, Gilf 

El Kebir. we reached the New Rock Art Cave in south west of the Gilf El 

Kebir by climbing down through three small canyons  from a valley west of 

Wadi Malek.

This rock art place is one of the richest sites you can see in the Libyan

Desert of Egypt. Painting over painting and on the outer wall also graffiti.

Still it gives more paintings, but they are covered by sand.

By comparing the photos, we found out, that it is the same rock art place,

which has been found one year before by Mr. Jacopo Foggini.*
